We have something amazing coming to UNC this month! It is called (as you have likely already guessed) Carry the Love. They are a grassroots organization that calls young generations to bring Christ's love into the world, a love which everyone desperately needs. As it says in Revelation 22:17, "The Spirit and the bride say come!" The church is the Spirit's bride, and we are called to usher people into a love so deep and profound that it's overwhelming. It is SO exciting to be able to partner with Christ in this way!
The Carry the Love campaign is explicit in its desire for students to be the ones harboring change. UNC's team has done the majority of the groundwork - finding an event space, doing all the marketing, and finding financial partners - and Carry the Love's team will bring the worship team. As professional love-bringers and Holy-Spirit-partners, they will join with UNC (and many other campuses) to call out to the weary and broken, "come! Come see about this love that is all fulfilling."
As the Carry the Love team puts it, "Our generation needs a love greater than what this world can offer; A love that is disruptive; A love that possesses every heart, shatters every boundary, and reaches across every line; A love that drives us to obedience, compassion, and action; A love that doesn’t look the other way but runs selflessly into pain and need; A love that heals, activates and redeems; A love only found in Jesus. Only this kind of love can win our generation to Jesus. Our dream is to see a generation carry this love." I can't wait to reach out to my campus at UNC Chapel Hill, but also to communities everywhere. Everybody needs this kind of love, and Carry the Love isn't the only one bringing it! Hopefully we will all be warriors of God, up in arms right beside Christ's Holy Spirit. Isn't that such a beautiful and heartening image?
